EduWombat was founded with a simple goal: teach math in a fun, relatable, and dynamic way that actually motivates students. That can’t be that hard, right?
We are an education company built by international alumni, for international students. It’s hard enough moving around, learning a new language, and not having a friend group. As IB Math experts, our goal is to take some of the load off you.
We create books, courses and resources that explain things clearly, focus on what actually works, and poke fun at the boo-boos we all make along the way.
Our first mission is taking students from surviving to thriving in IB Math – everything from MYP 1 all through DP 2 AA or AI, SL or HL. Wombat Math is where that starts.
🐾 Learn smarter. Don’t be a wombat.
Message from our Founder
After spending an unreasonable amount of my life in education, I’ve learned something very important: students learn best when they are happy. And when are they happy? That is the mystery. Kind of.
I’ve set out on a mission to create a pedagogical approach to teaching math & science that’s more than just apps, games, videos, and all that pixelated stuff. I want to make students feel understood (#mathishard) and safe (you can make mistakes – I definitely do). I want to make math feel simple (things are often unnecessarily complicated) and relatable (#We’reCooked). I want every student to feel capable – especially those who think they aren’t.
I have a bunch of degrees from some nice universities – including two engineering degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, a second master’s and a PhD from the University of Amsterdam. I like to learn – in fact, I LOVE to learn. Sometimes I learn about useful stuff like math, but usually about even more useful stuff, like animals.
So let’s get you to start loving to learn too, young wombat. Ideally about math, but maybe also about animals.
I founded EduWombat to support students who feel like they are mathematically drowning (and have been for years). Just because you battled with numbers in the past doesn’t mean you have to today or tomorrow. I’ve worked with hundreds of students over the last decade; almost all of them thought they were lost, but it turned out they just needed a map and a compass – and a little bit of tailwind.
I have other hobbies besides math. I like running, sweating, birds, traveling, my dog, my amazing wife, oh and did I mention birds?
🐾 I also have a thing for wombats.
